This creation of this website has been motivated within the classic UK tradition of Public Service Broadcasting - in other words, it is designed to educate, to inform and (to a much lesser degree than modern PSB) to entertain.

All material contained herein has been selected because Philip M Taylor believes it has merit under this philosophy.

It has not been selected becuase the web author agrees necessarily with the views contained herein, but rather because he believes the material has MERIT as part of the debate required to discuss the issues covered by the site. Material referred to here is thus considered to be authoritative or interesting - or both.

Not everthing seen on the internet is reproduced here. I have acted as a 'gatekeeper' to isolate material which is primarily useful to my students - much in the same way way as I have to prepare bibliographies for the courses I teach.

The material it refers to may say as much about my approach as the material it does not contain. But at least that alternative set of approaches is also available from the open source internet sites that this website is exclusively compiled from....
